I gave it a lot of thought before I decided to put together a newsletter. I don’t want to pester people! And I’m pretty accessible via the Twitters and the Instagrams. Heck, I’m even on Snapchat, though the learning curve on that one is taking a minute.
But what I realized is that a newsletter is going to let me tell you about some stuff I can’t share in a dependable fashion on other forms of social media. Things like appearances and giveaways, but also snippets of writing in progress and thoughts about what I’m reading at any given time. Maybe I’ll talk about makeup. The possibilities are endless.
The best part is that you won’t miss out on anything because, as a newsletter insider, you’ll hear about the important stuff first.
I don’t want to overwhelm anyone – including me. Believe me, I’ve been on the other side of things, watching people do self-promotion. It’s really hard to strike a balance between letting people know what you have out there and making people feel marketed to. And I think it really sucks to feel like you’re being taken advantage of as a market.
Plus, there’s just so much to talk about in general! I’m not going to lose the bead on that.
The first newsletter is going out soon. I hope you’ll sign up – and that you’ll invite your friends to the party as well. The pre-order phase is really pivotal for a book release, and I appreciate every single person who tells someone else and spreads the word about Dust Bath Revival.
In the meantime, if there’s something you’d love to see in my newsletter, let me know! This is basically a love letter to all of you, delivered on a regular basis. What sweet nothings do you want whispered in your in-box?
And thanks for signing up!
